Yeah, complete oddball question and a long shot, but wondering if there's any chance anyone has loaded pulled down 12.7x108mm powder in .338 LM with 250 grain bullets?

The powder is 4/7 Tsgr (Цгр), it was also sold commercially as Irbis VL-1. QL unfortunately doesn't seem to support this powder. I know some Irbis powders were imported to the US from pulled down ammo, so hoping someone may have been down this path already. Cross referencing the charge weight in 12.7 to .50 BMG data, it seems in the burn range of US869. This will, in theory, work for 250 gr .338 LM with OK velocities. I don't think there's any way I'll blow a rifle up using a powder that slow. Figuring in the absence of data to start at 80% case fill and send one over the chronograph at the end of a long string...

Thanks Dan. I'd seen the CB forum post but not the others. Unfortunately all different powders. Well, this can't be rocket surgery, we'll see what happens!

It is possible to extrapolate burning rates with the powder in other cartridges and then use that to calculate a lower pressure load and work up. Sometimes it's all you can do. - dan
