Hey guys,

Here is my new project. It's a spanish side by side, on which I shortened the barrels to 24". I also installed front and rear sights, though realistically they probably won't be too practical. I tinkered with this gun with the thought of it being similar to the old african "paradox" rifles. I'm mainly looking for accuracy within 35 yards, so hopefully I can get out to test it soon.

I'm currently working on two loads for it, one with a .735 580 grain roundball at around 1300fps, and a "buckshot" load of 3 .570 roundballs at around 1100fps.

from what I've read, when you start firing the heavy roundballs/minie slugs, they tend to torque the crap out of the threaded chokes. The twist rate in the chokes are too fast for the mass of the slugs, so they tend to torque the threaded chokes a lot. If remington had slower twist chokes, then it might work, but I don't think those exist yet.
