Thanks for the feedback. Does hummanson sell hulls?? 12 ga I am cool on for what is left of my life with probally 20,000 plus 2 3/4" stashed all types right back to rem RXP and blue peters and that is after helping out a few members here last year with a few 1000 each of types I would never reload again. 28 ga will be my problem. take care :)

I have heard that cowboy action shooters like loading blackpowder loads into the really cheap target hulls since they dump the hulls and don't collect them after.

Are you using Cheddite primers in your kent etc. If not all others will be somewhat loose.

CCI primers. I had some Cheddite and they fit nice and tight in Win and Rem hulls. I used them up in Win AA .410 hulls, again a tight fit.

I've heard of the Cheddite being loose problem before but maybe my one box was overly large Cheddites? I dunno.

I noticed that Hornady hulls have a glue/sealant on the primer when I remove it. Maybe the primers are meant to be glued in?

They don't list them. I believe I recall seeing hulls for sale there but not on a regular basis.

Ok I will take a stab at this from memory. When the cheddite 1st appeared we bought tons of them since they were to be a replacement for the winchester and 2/3 the price. After our 1st reloads we found they were just a bit hotter which was fine but a totally different tolerance range most being larger so if you took your new 1x hulls and reloaded them with the cheddite the next time you reloaded that hull if a winchester was used it would be very loose and fall out. Thus you start with a cheddite in a hull you finish with cheddite until it is tossed. I think they were red flash hole??
Cheddiite agreed with the issue and released a second design which yes were much closer but again not 100% so mostly semi users may have the odd one fall out. They were black I think flash hole.
So on your kent hulls they come factory with cheddite primers so to reload cheddite would be your best option.
On the Hornady hulls I'm confused. The only hornady hulls I have seen over the years were buck shot loads and those at least in the early days actually had a warning on the box not to be reloaded.
They were a real poor grade hull and I am wondering if they over sized the primer pocket on purpose and used a sealing compound to prevent reloading them.
