Because of the bargain flat price of target loads and the present high cost of lead, I have not been motivated to load much in recent years, but I feel the need for a good light load. I would use it for 16 yard trap, informal skeet and some shots at clays. I have a good supply of AA hulls, win pink and grey wads. I have tried win super-lite many years ago. Preformed well, but as I recall they were really dirty. Any recomendations would be appreciated.

I've been using 15.8 gr of Promo,Fed 209A primer,the grey Claybuster wad in an old style AA hull.Works well for 16 yards,short to mid handicap and the first shot of doubles.
I've recently changed to the Cheddite primers with the other components staying the same.Can't tell any difference in performance.
They're both extremely easy on the shoulder.

Winchester powders were generally filthy in my experience.
My 7/8s ounce load uses old style AA, Win 209 primers, Winchester grey wads and 19.5 grains of American Select. Alliant's reloading website puts this load at 1,300 fps with a listed pressure of 8,000 psi. Hits targets hard, doesn't hit me hard in return and works perfectly in my semi-auto.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have a half keg of 700X and a small amount of American Select and all the other components. As I recall, the select was very clean burning, almost like clays. I got my right rotator repaired about 18 months ago and I want to get back to burning a lot more powder. Thanks again.
