anyone ever try loading 7x .243 rifle bullets in 12 gauge? cast? jacketed? anything similar?

just thought about it today, but dont have the stuff to try it out. i would be interested to see if it works any different than buck shot in terms of spread and penetration

probably pattern worse then buck shot, as depending on how the bullets travels threw the air its not simetrical in all directions. id guess it would end up with a bunch of s**tty patterning key hole bullet holes, also i dont think it would compress to well goin threw a choke, so you have to run cylender bore barrel, and that alone would open the pattern way up.

not to mention shot is probably cheaper any way

...anything similar?

The only think that comes to mind are flechette loads, and they fall into the anti-personnel category.

I do have some French made 12ga sabot rounds that use a single fin stabilized slug of approximately .30cal.

I've loaded 12 dimes into a shot shell. Pretty cool on a target board. ONLY FIRE IN CYLINDER bore!!! Would I do it again prolly not. But good luck if u try it. Post results
