I can't do it right now, but by the end of the week I'll get a couple more pics of the profile of the gun. I bought last yearit from Horst Held in Texas. He has a specialty in interesting old handguns, some very expensive; others, like this one, not so much. It's an antique in both countries. It's 7mm pinfire, serial number 16640. I don't know anything more about the maker, Riffelmann, other than his factory was in Solingen (then Prussia), and the gun was probably made in the middle of the 19th century. At the forcing cone end of the approx. 4-3/4" barrel is Riffelmann's mark, a capital R in a dashed circle under the word, "probert" (proofed), and "7m/m". The gun carries light, factory engraving. It's my representative pinfire piece, and an attractively odd one. It has a kind of broomhandlish butt with a stud and a split ring, as though it was to be attached to a lanyard. Riffelmann was probably hoping for officer purchases. I'd like to see the holster made for this. My very great appreciation to Randy for his help in getting the picture out; I never could have done it myself.
