12g brass

I use the priming rod from a MEC loader. Push the primer in as far as you can by hand, put case vertically on a block of steel insert priming rod (make sure the primer pocket goes in the rod) whack the rod with a hammer. That is hiw I have done it. Should work with pistol primers as well. I use the MEC rod because I am seating 209’s. For pistol I would just take a rod drill the end to clear the primer pocket snd usd that v

I either use a Lee priming punch from one of their hand tool sets, or often I put a coin (nickle ?) On top of the primer cup of a MEC 600Jr. And place rhe primer on that , then lower the handle and set the primer .
Thus shows all you need to load by hand however

I too just use a lee deprime rod and since I have a 12ga lee loader I also use the priming rod and a piece of wood for repriming.

I’m not using magtech but a mix of old Winchester Remington and kynoch I gathered over the years. Had to do some fancy resizing work on some of them as the tops were no longer tapered and wouldn’t chamber in my gun.

Surprisingly brass fits and feeds(win and rem being full 2 3/4 inch) in my stevens 58.

I ran into a full box of new but vintage , unprimed UMC Brass a few years ago .
Excellent stuff for sure!
They originally were in a plan heavy unmarked paper box that was very dilapidated , so I put them in a plastic one .
All have been fired, cleaned and reprimed

They’re out there that’s for sure. Remington has done runs of them on and off over the years like the ducks unlimited tins. The kynoch I have are made kinda like the old martini Henry and snider shells wrapped brass inserted into a brass cup.

I also have some aluminum hulls of European manufacture unfortunately 2 are berdan primed so I won’t be making use of them.

The UMC cases are pretty cool, so I bought them for the flash, not because I actually needed them! LOL
I have a box of 16 gauge brass that is Berdan primed. I bought them from EPPS many years ago when I started shooting Grand Dad's Lafaucheux underlever🙂
I also bought enough primers to last for another 50 years! LOL
