Do you guys find much of difference between the 100rd value packs from Winchester vs Federal? I've had more than a few issues with the Winchester stuff in several of my guns, just wondering if Federal is any better? I've used the Winchester AA shells before and they worked great. Don't know how much they were though, a friend gave me a box to try. I like to shoot as often as I have time for so sometimes it can get expensive.

Cheap Winchester shells jam all the time in a number of different guns. Most common is Remington 870's or 887's which can lock right up. The premium Winchester stuff (and AA's) seem to be fine. I have fired about 500 Federal target load shells through my 870's with zero stuck shells or jams.

Always looking to save money. Just trying to get away from the jams, FTE, FTF of the Winchester stuff. Walmart used to sell Winchester high brass game loads for $7.xx a box. I'd buy that instead of the value packs because it was much better for nearly the same price. That ammo is now over $10 a box. Maybe I'm just cheap but it's nothing to go through 200rds when I get together with friends for a shoot. That works out to an extra $20 to buy the high brass. lol, I just read what I typed. I am cheap :p

Not sure where you're located but last fall I bought 250 rd flats of Federal trap ammo for $55 at Wholesale Sports in Edmonton.

Cheap and good.

When the 100 packs were below $20, they were tolerable. Yeah, you had the odd jam, but they were priced right for screwing around. Now that they're over $30, it's worth it $$ wise to get the flats of Federal.

(E)
