12ga Buttstock Shell Holder

I found a great one on Ebay for $17 delivered
Go to ebay, find a Ukrainian eBay shop named "maks11000". They have lots of different leather stuff, including a leather shell holder for $24.95 US. I'm not gonna put a direct link here but if you click through their shop you will find it. Comes to about $40 Canadian including shipping.
Don't be fooled by the price - this thing is VERY well made, good quality leather. I make leather stuff as a hobby and I couldn't even get the raw material for that money, let alone make one this nice.
Here it is on my short 12 gauge:
It has a suede cheek pad on the opposite side, and once properly tightened it doesn't slip, at least not on the stock of my 870.
The only small downside is that there is no flap over the shells, so they can get pushed out if the gun is handled a lot. Can be solved with a rubber band or something if that's a concern.

^^^ this... I have the same shell holder (looks identical) from a Ukraine dealer that goes by the name extremestyle_ua - could very well be the same dealer.
I've bought a few things off him, and they're very well made, and amazing price for what you get.
