130 gr .270 Interbond question

This might be a foolish question, but has any one used these bullets and if so did yours have a cannelure? I was under the impression they had a smooth jacket (WTF good is a locking ring on a bonded bullet) but I bought a box a couple of days ago and they had a cannelure. I've asked Hornady and the response I got was essentially "maybe, maybe not follow the manual and you'll be fine". I don't much care one way or the other, I guess I'm just paranoid I paid double the price for a box of SST. Thx!
 
Weird. Every interbond image on www doesn't have a cannelure. It's possible. Maybe inerlocks?

My 130gr Interbonds in .277 do NOT have a cannelure.
None of my Interbonds do. .243 .277 .284 .308 .338
Sounds like you got a mis packaged box of SST's because all of the SST's I have look the same as the Interbonds EXCEPT for the Cannelure
 
I had the same issue a few months ago. I contacted Hornady and they stated that they may have had a special order of Interbonds that had a cannelure. They checked the lot number and confirmed that they were in fact Interbonds.

It didn't sit well with me, so I returned them and went with Nosler Accubonds. Problem solved.
I love Hornady components but I feel that this is false advertising and I choose not to support it.
 
Somewhere in the last five years or so Hornady has messed with the jacket of their interlocks as well.Can't get them to admit it but a once great bullet either blows up on game or acts like a FMJ.We experienced several bullet failures in .30,9.3 and .270... Harold

I agree, and I'l likely return mine as well but the store I bought them from won't accept returns on components. Lesson learned.
