Gents, whats the thoughts here on loading the 130gr PPSN from Woodleigh into the 300 blk, im fairly sure im going to go with the Ruger Ranch, 16 inch model--

It will be primarily for my Son to shoot the smaller Deer for starters- Fallow.. aka whitetail sized deers.

Now i see some good review on using a 125gr SST for hunting, an i realised i have alot of 130PPSN which i use for fallow but out of the 30-06 velocitys..

Woodleighs rec impact is 2000-3000, which is as low as their 30-30 impact aswell for the 150 FN...

with ADI data showing max loads of AR2205 at only just on 2000fps... taking shots no further than 200meters, an more likely alot closer to 100m being a way out there for starters--- Do i really need to shop for another bullet right now?

I don't think you would get any expansion on those bullets at all with 300 BO. I would be looking at something else. SST or even the vmax at Blackout velocities would be a better choice imo. Another option, the 190 grain sub-x. Very accurate when pushed beyond subsonic velocities, and they will expand without fragmenting. I would try pushing them to about 1600fps and that should hammer deer inside your range envelope.

110 or 120 grain barnes Tac TX bullets are what you're after, may be harder for you to find there, but it gives you the best balance of speed and expansion, load data shows close to 2400 fps

The .300 BLK specific Barnes bullets will expand decently even out of a pistol length barrel. Those 130s mentioned by the OP are almost certainly not going to expand well. That may or may not be an issue depending on the shooter and game.

Thanks!
i guess this is a taskfor me down the road, test out 130 ppsn an 150 fn on deers small an big. but until then il source something a bit lighter an fragile per say
