130gr TTSX .308 caliber arrived yesterday. These little things look pretty cool.

I'll head to the range tonight after work, and work up a load for my 300WSM...Hopefully they shoot well. I should be able to get about 3500fps +/- from them.

If I get a good load, I will be forced to shoot a bear to see how they work. Any bear...:D

Interested in the load and how it turns out for you. I just bought a mint Sako m75 Greywolf in 300WSM with Leupold Gunmetal grey VX3 scope on saturday. For factory going to try the XP3's in 180gr but reloads will be probably 180gr Accubonds or 180TTSX's but a smaller bullet for deer would be good

Hmmm that might be a good way to get some more out of my .308 and give me something to play around with this summer LOL. I for sure would like to hear how they work for you...

So, I got to the range today after work witht he loading gear.

To say I was impressed is an understatement. Usually it takes about 10 or so rounds to ladder up a load..I did this in 6 shots, without too much powder changes...

barnes uses 66gr varget as max for these bullets, so from a squeaky clean barrel, I shot a 64 gr load. Next a 65 gr load...They were a few inches apart, so I was a bit pissed, until I recalled the clean barrel.

65 went right next to the other, so I tried 65.5x3 loads. They all went into less than. 70 " group...wit 3472, 3473 and 3475fps as velocities..

The wind/rain started picking up, so I made a couple more rounds. A quick 10MOA in elevation ad 1.5MOA in windage adjustment on the scope gave me a 1" high at 100, which wil be fin to 300 or so.

Last round WHACKED the gong at 340 (really impressed by how hard it hit it) and that was a couple of inches lower than POA.

By this time, it was pissing rain, so I packed up and left.

I am pretty sure I coul d add some more powder and hit 3525fps or more, and accuarcy may improve, but how much do I need?

If and when I get another box or 2, I will play around. For now, I have 4 rounds loaded and a bear will be the test medium.:)

I have another box of 165gr X bullets to use up first. But I can't wait to hear how these 130 grainers do. I am using the more traditional .300 win mag, so it will take some work to get a load up as I am still new to reloading. Let us know what brass/primers/powders you use so I can get a starting point.

Every now and again I get struck with the urge to zip a few of them out of my 300RUM as a "do-all" light game round....Wonder what kind of velocity I could get......

I'm waiting to see the results of these live animal tests this was going to be one of my next projects Good Luck

NRUT, am I missing something? I have placed several orders for triggers, bullets and other products from them. The 130gr TTSX are shown in stock. Have you ever placed an order from them?

Yes I have...A Hornady 35 Whelen die set two months ago...Read the link to their shipping policy...
http://www.lockstock.com/shipping.asp

Now if you got a import permit (Canadian) and sent it to them so they could get a export permit (assuming that they would go to the trouble) then you would be able to import the items you spoke of...

I am going to place and order with them today for a Hornady .375 H&H die set and a BoreTech cleaning rod....I like doing business with them as they seem to actually have the items they list in their catalog in stock...
I will ask them if the U.S. Federal restrictions on shipping such things as bullets, brass, scopes, and gunparts has been changed so that they can ship these items to Canada without import/export permits....
I HOPE YOU ARE RIGHT and their website has not been up dated to reflect the change in U.S law....
Either way I will post tonight what they say about shipping above items to Canada..
:)

My last order for bullets and brass was over six months ago.... So they obviously clamped down on this shipping policy, had no problem before that.... Will that sucks, they were very good to deal with...
