Anyone using these bullets for IPSC? They seem like a nice fit between 124gr and 147gr, and I thought I'd try them with some TG that I have on hand.

I was looking at them about a week or so ago to work up some new 9mm 'production' loads.
Then I saw they are .356 as opposed to .355, so I wondered if they are meant for loading .38 Super?
...and then I found a box of 5000 124gr. Montana Golds stuffed at the back of a shelf in the gun room and sort of dropped the idea, but I'm still interested in them.

I received the 135 gr bullets a few days ago, so using data from CamPro for TiteGroup (3.2 - 3.7gr), loaded some at 3.5gr and tried them out yesterday. The accuracy was a lot better than any factory loads that I've tried out of my SP-01 Shadow, and noticeably less recoil as well. I'm hoping to get 975 fps for a PF of 130ish, so I'm curious what the MV actually is. I'm not a very good IPSC shooter, but I'm looking forward to trying these in a few matches.

I recently got a few thousand to try. If you don't mind me asking, what overall length do you use, and have you measured the velocity yet?

My COAL is 1.115, a little on the shorter side for the CZ.

I've been using CCI Blazer brass, and Remington 1 1/2 primers. I recently purchased a Garmin chronograph, so I haven't had the chance to play around with it too much yet. I ran a few shot strings at 3.5gr of TiteGroup, and the average velocity from my Shadow is in the 1030 - 1035 FPS.

I also tried a few rounds @ 3.4gr of TiteGroup and got one 10 shot string averaging 941 FPS and one 9 shot string averaging 918 FPS. 3.3gr of TiteGroup gave me an average of 865 FPS for one 9 shot string, and 863 FPS for a second 10 shot string. Ideally I'd like an average of 1000 FPS or just under, so I'm close to what I'm hoping for, just need to fine tune a little bit.

All of the velocities were measured indoors.

Thanks for the result. You made minor PF, nice.

FYI...you should always determine your own OAL.

Hi anyone try there with bullseye ? Would love to hear some feedback
Thanks

I've loaded 147gr CamPro's with Bullseye and Titegroup (3.5gr) and their performance mimics one another. Given hr.rage's data above I would expect very similar results, if not identical, if you were to use the exact same charge weight of Bullseye.

Since I'm new at reloading, I'm still learning how to do the pluck test and how pressure varies when the length is changed. I'm not sure how much to reduce the load because the previous time I attempted it, the overall length appeared quite short and I don't currently own a chronograph and have to borrow one when needed.

You progressively shorten a long dummy round until it plunks in the barrel(s) you plan to shoot the load through. As long as you're using a published load you don't need to worry about dangerous pressure. E.g. I load that CamPro 147gr bullet I mentioned earlier to 1.08. Why? Because that's what's required for it to plunk in my CZ'S. Every bullet/barrel combo will differ and you will have to determine the OAL each time you change the bullets/barrel combo.

You will see a slight bump at the chrono, because of the increased pressure, but it will not be harmful or dangerous when using published loads (yes, even max loads). The advantage of loading to the shortest barrel you own is that the ammo will work for your entire stable.
