They're pretty much done since the US isn't exporting ARs with barrels shorter than 16". Too bad since the 14.5" is the sweet spot IMO.

I managed to score a 14.5" and 10.5" in the past month  I would definitely call Wolverine.. you never know!

Is it because it shoots better with 14.5"? How does it handle in comparison with 16"? I've shot 10.5" before, but never 14.5", but I've head only the good things about them.

There's really no difference between 14.5" and 16" other than ballistic performace/terminal performace. The 16" guns with standard carbine handguards look a little funny because of the extra length ahead of the front sight base. Most people don't notice.

I like 14.5 as a 7" Carbine and 16 as a 9" MidLength.

I had a line on a 14.5 Bushmaster upper and I have not looked back since.

Yeah, go for a 16"mid length, longer sight radius for you BUIS,until you get some glass for it.
I've got a 14.5 (Armalite from Wolverine),just had to have it,don't see what the big deal about it over a 16" is .Next one's going to be a 16" mid-length.maybe a RRA or Armalite again.

Not sure I'd noticed any differents in operation myself,it all happiens pretty quick.

the difference in "smooth"ness is from the length of the gas tube. This also contributes to reliability. It's not usually an issue for civilian/recreation type shooting, but when you go into combat with the carbine-length gas system you end up having feeding problems occasionally. I got lucky while in Iraq and my unit got to upgrade to the H&K 416 Gas Piston upper, never had a problem again.

Yes he does. Built on a custom KAC URX railed upper. He gets all the cool kit!
