14" 870 with pistol grip...legal???

Just found out.......once it registered as 14" or less with pistol grip it's then a restricted, and CANT be re-registered as a non-restricted

That sucks

... well, that's news to me!

Elwood Epps turns restricted Cx4 to non-restricted just be changing to a longer barrel. How's that different from your shotgun?

By installing a PG only on your 14" bbl gauge makes your gun prohib bud.
Less than 26" right?

Don't think so.....Franchi PA3 restricted 8.5 and 6.5" barrel versions with folding postol grip stock.

RCMP trying to make the pistol grip 870 8.5" which is currently non-restricted changed to restricted NOT prohibited.

Neither are prohib

If you cut the barrel below 18.5 inches, or cut the stock reducing the overall length below 26 inches, most agree the law says you've created a prohib.

The issue is installing factory parts achieving the same result.

There is a strong argument that the black letter law only refers to folding stocks with regard to OAL below 26 inches, except with a semi auto. It is under review, but there is a strong argument that a non-restricted gun does not automaticly become restricted when altered below 18.5/26 AOL as long as it is with factory or commercial parts.

The second question question seems to be, does a very short pump action shotgun equal the definition of a handgun. As it requires more than one hand to operate, I tend to say no.
