14" barrel: Which folding stock?

Guys, I'm sorry if this has been covered. I did search; and found somebody on here saying that some folding stocks, but not all, will maintain the legal length restrictions with a 14" barrel. Can you tell me which folders work and which don't? I was thinking about a top folder. Thanks in advance.

There are absolute limits in Canada for overall length. I must check but from memory I beleive it to be 26 inches overall. measure length of barrel with the receiver attached to find minimal length of the folding stock. I do not know the application of the shotgun but I would go with the full length stock with pistol grip:runaway: :runaway: :runaway: :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana: :evil: :evil: :evil:
 
A knoxx copstock might still fit as it has the same "nubin" out the back as the spec op.
When I measure my 14"np-9 from barrel to this nubin part of my spec op stock it is 26 1/2". :)

To be safe go for the spec ops stock. :D

I know you think you mean well, but that is a crock of ####. The CFC may interpret the CCC, but they can not rule around it or in defiance of it. Your FRT for the sub 26 inch non-restricted is a mistake. If and when the issue becomes a police matter, the FRT will not pay your lawyer bills for you.

By all means pursue this matter, but before you walk out the door with it as pictured, make sure you've got an understanding employer and 100k to keep you afloat while you work your way through the courts.

So you're saying the CFC is wrong?? :confused:
This is why I posted this in the first place, to make sure I don't "walk out the door" with a jail-bait gun, I want to get the opinions of you CGN'rs.

But as far as I know, I'm not the only one with this gun in this configuration. And this gun is legal as far as I know until someone confirms otherwise.

If the gun as you describe it was newly imported into Canada, there is absolutely no doubt that it would be classed as restricted due to it's shorter than 26 inch over all length.

I know Mark has posted in the other thread about the CFC making clear that commercial conversions are not considered to be the same as sawing down the barrel or stock. That is wonderful. However, that does not mean that altering a firearm using a commercial conversion will not mean a change in legislated class.


(EDIT) Now if it turns out that this is in fact perfectly Kosher, we should seriously look into a Serbu barrel and forend group buy!!!

Yea I agree here, I mean it blatantly says under 660mm.
Factory parts or not still dosent change the fact that when you put them on a gun it "alters" it.
This topic is making me very sketchy, and I hope noone gets in crap over it.
We do live in Canukistan afterall.
 
Despite Korporal's insistance that there are no length restrictions I am going to stick with the idea that there are. I like what I have seen about the Knoxx copstock folder. Thanks for the heads up on that. I am also interested in the sling plates that you sell BBB, so it looks like I will be ok as far as the 26" rule goes. I'm sure there is somebody on here who has a 14" barrel shotgun with a folding stock that can tell me for sure whether it is at least 26" folded. I'd like to stay on that topic please. Not that I'm not interested in Korporal's other thread. I will be watching that one with interest.
 
with a Knoxx Breacher's grip my 14 inch Remigton police comes out 1/2 to 3/4 inch over the 26" length

That's the sort of thing that I want to know. The Breacher's grip appears to have an extension of a couple inches out the back, whereas the copstock doesn't, so the copstock might come up short. The spec ops is a telescopic type stock and is not what I'm looking for.
