14" mossberg 590- can it happen?

I'd like a 28" ventilated rib barrel with bead sight for my 590.
Mossberg 835 barrels will fit on 18.5" barreled 590's and 500's that have magazine caps and not magazine screws.
But,you wouldn't be able to use the 3.5" chamber, nothing bigger than what the receiver will handle.
I have a 20" 590A1. Guess I'm SOL?
Edit: Found out it is dooable but I'll have to buy a 500 series mag tube as well. Cheaper to buy another shotty for trap or hunting.

Maybe not,just need to find a good smith that could afix a 2nd barrel ring on a 835 barrel at the right spot.
Some american has probably done it already.lol

Someone on EE is selling a 14" 590A1. Typical EE pricing of course.
How do you know it is 'heavy walled' though? Marking on bbl? What it say on the box if you still have it?
Everywhere I have looked so far says the same thing... the 590A1 has the metal (alum.) trigger guard / top tang safety, and heavy bbl. The 590 does not.

Looks like you are right about our factory non-A1 14" 590's having the same heavy walled barrel as the 14" 590A1's. I asked over at a Mossberg forum site, and the reply was "The factory 14 inchers are all 590a1 'heavy' barrels". I thought it was only the 590A1's that had it no exceptions. Damn... +$500+ EE pricing eh.
I asked Mossberg last week to confirm, but no reply yet.
I had two 14"ers at one point. My first one was a regular 590, plastic trigger guard and safety, and not a heavy walled barrel. Much lighter than my later one, which was a 590A1 (and stamped as such on the side of the receiver), metal trigger guard and safety, and heavy walled barrel, so they do exist. Both had ghost ring sights, pump straps and speed-feed stocks. The first one may have been an early production model; but I did have them both, long since sold. Sorry, no pics.

This is off M4CARBINE.Net , 15" mossberg 590, This guy didn't want to have to change the mag tube, forearm, and slide action just to get a 14" barreled 590,so he had the barrel on his 18.5" 590 cut down to 15",but they can do that down there for a $200 tax stamp or something like that.
