I know this gun has gotten rather bad reviews BUT what if I could offer them at $165 each plus tax. Each one would be fired before it left here to make sure it works. Would anyone be interested?

They MIGHT make a good truck gun, but for $200 (tax and shipping included), you'd be better off with ANY used 870 (norinco or Rem). The 14" is THE only thing going for that shotgun, and even THAT is debateable, since it won't fit on any other receiver, and any 870 barrel won't fit the 780.

I was sold one on the premise it was an HP9-1, and I have NEVER seen a rougher 'finished' (if you could call it that) firearm in all my life. I've owned a TON of Norinco 870's, and all were easily twice the gun the 780 is. There is almost no parts interchangeability with the 780. 870 stocks, forends, barrels, etc. will not work.

Not to crap on your idea or you parade, but I'd be more worried about negatively impacting your brand (ammosource) if you're seen to be selling garbage. Would their be any warranty? That might kill you right there! You obviously have an impeccable customer satsifaction rating as evidenced by your trader feedback, and personally I wouldn't risk any harm to it by selling these sorry excuses for a shotgun. I would guess you'd have a lot of returns.

Granted, I'm dealing with a 780 sample size of 'one' on which I'm forming my opinion, but it so scarred my soul that I shudder every time I hear the words 'Homeland Security 780'. I don't even think Marstar would sell these abominations. haha ;)

So to answer your question, no, I would not be interested in these shotguns. Just my honest opinion as a guy that has owned a metric buttload of Norincos over the past ten years. If you do decide to sell them, please feel free to delete my post. :)

A 200$ shotgun sounded great until I read some of the comments about the quality.

It may do more harm than good for your name.

On the other hand it could be Norinco bashing.

Personally I would not buy once since a dominion arms is only several hundred more, for a shotgun that I know will work well.

I'd be interested too

but I'd like to see some pics and get some info on why they are considered bad, I just used the search function and wasn't able to find anything.

From my perspective, it's not Norinco bashing. As noted, I've owned a bunch (10+) Norinco AND Dominion Arms shotguns. All are twice to three times a better quality firearm than the 780 (which I believe IS a Norinco product as well). I've owned Norinco pistols, rifles, and shotguns, and have always been pleased with the value for $$$.

I wish I kept pictures of that piece of junk. It had about 5 razor sharp edges that could cut you just from handling the gun when broken down. The receiver was so roughly finished (inside AND out) that it looked like it was made in a hut on the Ho-Chi-Minh Trail. Working the action felt like sand was embedded in the metal. The end of the barrel looked like it had been completed with a pipe cutter, and that's it. The received has this wierd 'hump' in the back that's brutally ugly as well. The action bars were so rough it was unreal.

Sorry - I know I keep ragging on the 780, but from my perspective, it's not a bargain at $200. At $100, I'd maybe get one as a loaner, but once you're in the $200 range, there are better options.

Frankly, I think that cutting corners on a firearm that you could possibly stake your life on in a defensive situation is unwise. If you can spend a couple hundred more for a reliable shotty then it's a no brainer to me. I have a HP-9 which the Remmy purists might balk at, but I've got quite a few rounds down the pipe with zero issues, in fact it has ran flawlessly from the time I pulled it out of the box. I guess my point is that if you are suspect about it's quality and you plan on using it for defending life and limb, you might want to spend a few dollars more to ensure it will be there when you need it. If it's just for blowing stuff up at the range then not so critical.
My humble opinion only.;)

Seem a little Ironic a chinese made shotgun should have the moniker
"homeland Security". Which homeland are they talking about?

$165 12ga pump? Just how bad could it be? If you are testing them and offering a warranty I would certainly take a good hard look at one to purchase. Any pics of the shotty?

OK, here's the deal, looks like I'll be offering these at $149 each or abit less...maybe a special of 3 for $400ish as well. I won't be offering a warranty on them. They are all being sold as is. Each one will be fired before they leave here. What do you think?
