I like them just cant afford one right now . I think anything under a grand is a deal in the firearms world for a military rifle. What are type 97 selling for. Arent they like $1200. The original price of the 81 at $999 I thought was reasonable. It hands down beats an SKS and even an SKS D in style and function. $1400 is a bit much for a rifle that was $1200 all in but if u missed the boat and these are the only ones that are coming (I have heard that before) then u might find a buyer

Sold a gen 1 type 97 last week 650 shipped . I had offers for 500 . Ad lasted a day before I got the 650 . But $500 offers 1 hr into the ad was ridiculous

when a real user is talking the sellers should listen ...

Well to be fair ive got around $1900 invested into mine... including tax and shipping. But that doesnt include my personal time and most importantly the sentimental value a firearm can also have ;)

a valmet at $1400 ... how many decades ago?

Oh, I wasn't saying that I've ever seen Valmet at $1400. I was just saying that scarcity now (and throughout the period of time that I've been a firearms owner) has resulted in the market price for a valmet being WAY more than it's capabilities could ever justify.....kinda like a fancy detachable mag SKS for 1400.

now is it his fault for reacting to the news from TI that there are no more coming, this is the "LAST SHIPMENT EVER".

yes, TI has a tendency to over promote.

i sold a bunch of mags for $35 (retail $29) last week cos they are sold out. now why would i sell them if i wasnt making money?
however, i did see an ad this weeks asking $50 and i think it was sold, darn!!!

the value/price is in the eye of the beholder ..

for someone, it's an acceptable price … some would pay even more and see it as a bargain .. some would see it be way overpriced even when it was on the shelves of official dealers …

looks like many people crave for the Soviet style system …

why the hell then they didn't volunteer then to move there while it was still in existence because we,
who were inside and who finally got fed up and had to destroy it, would just gladly exchange places with them 30 years ago?

Someone price gouging on the EE and being called out for it isn't "socialist" of the OP and "capitalist" of the seller.

The adults on the forum are discussing "value" versus "price" and therefore the corresponding consumer surplus for the buyer. The kids are acting like McCarthyist dim wits.

Put down your intellectually lazy pitchforks and pick up a book on microeconomics.
