what is the BC of this 147 FMJ round???it is a Portagese match round




I have a bunch of them here and might try loading them up...

Closest I can find is the discontinued 147gr. FMJ Hornady bullet which has a B.C. of 0.212. I'd imagine your Portagese stuff has a B.C. fairly close. My data comes from the latest Hornady manual for your reference.

I do believe that you will have to determine the velocity at two points along the trajectory, and then do some math to figure out the BC.

Or, just go with gushulak's book.

Hi,
I believe in one of the previous reply you got, what was listed is the SD and not the BC.

The value should be closer to .400 in my opinion.

see the Sierra data here:

2115 .308 150 Full Metal Jacketed .226 .408 @ 2800 fps and above
Boat Tail .397 between 1800 and 2800 fps


I have some of these bullets and ammo too and the bullets are boat tail.
