Does anyone load the 7-08 with 150gr Winchester power points? If so, how do you like them? Accuracy? Killing efficiency on deer?
Most of my hunting is in fairly thick woods and shots are 30 to 100 yards or so, and I would like to try these bullets.They should be a bit stouter than most of the 140's and should have pretty good penatration and weight retention for angle shots and not be too stressed at close range impact. (I've killed 'em as close as 8 steps).
I know there are higher quality bullets out there but I have always had good luck with and like Winchester bullets. I have also been considering 140,150 Nosler Partition, but they are a bit pricey.
