How’s YOUR accuracy of the Nosler 150 gr ABLR in a 6.5 PRC. ? RJ
I got a couple boxes to try in the 264. With a 1-7.5 twist JC barrel. Been curious as to the seating depth. N570 works wonders with this round.
Well, sadly no consistency was found with the 142/150 LRAB. Overall the average was 4-5" at 200yds. I was certainly teased by a few good groups and low sd's tho, however none were repeatable. Even put a tuner on to see if that would find a sweet spot, but nada....Tried both with r26 and n565.
Of the 100 150 and 100 142's, i am down to 20ish in each box, and then my supply is done. So i am shelving these and sticking with the 140 Impacts (repeatable 1.25" 200 yd groups 3100fps) and have a backup with my scant supply of 156 Bergers which also shoot real good.
Can't wait for the supply chain to pick up. I am rather jazzed to try the 142 Bondstrike bullet in this rifle and see what it can do.
That sums up ABLR for me. A teaser group here and there, but often they throw fliers with the best loads you can develop. They're sleek, hold together better than an ELDx, but the lack of repeatable precision doesn't put them in the long range game for me. I said I'd never buy a box of ABLR again, then the 6.5 150 came out and I couldn't help myselfNow at their current prices, I am even more disinterested in them
what a WHINER.Thxs for your input Kid .

Hey RJ I have done some testing with the 150 LRAB in my Sako S20 6.5prc. first time to range last weekend with handful of powder charges loaded at .5 increments. Found small fps node at max book charge of H1000, 57gr, gave me same 2865fps give or .5gr, the group was .75" and .9" (4shots each, center to center). I actually talked to Chris few days ago about his testing to. All my loads I test with this bullet/powder where 1.75" or smaller at 100yds. These were all at .050" jump. I loaded few more batches from 56.5 to 58gr in .2gr increments. Watch for pressure to but has been fine especially in my lapua brass. Using fed 210 primers also. Loaded up few different jumps loads see if there tighten up there as well. Will keep you posted hoping to shoot em this weekend.
