I have a pile of 30-06 150gr that I will not use, I am trying to sell it but another thought is to break them down and use the components.

I will not be using the powder but thought I could take the primed cases and load them with known powder, build up a load of course, with a heavier bullet weight like I want in my 30-06.

I would then take the 150gr SP bullets and use them in the SKS and or 30-30 bolt action gun.

Does anyone know how these might work at the slower speeds of the 7.62x39 and 30-30? They are cheaper cup and core bullets.

Thanks

I would sell the 30-06 ammo and buy some proper 30-30 or 7.62x39 bullets. I wouldn't use .308 bullets in 7.62x39 (.312 bullets).

I am trying to sell them, not going to give them away though, for 200 brass, primers and bullets I need to get real money for them, ha ha.

My SKS has a tighter bore then I would have thought, I think flat base .308 will actually shoot ok, I want to try it anyway at some point.

I've loaded .308 150gr SP bullets in an SKS at muzzle speeds around 2000 fps. Accuracy wasn't too bad in spite of the .310 bore - around 3" groups at 100 meters off the bench. Kills Deer quite dead at close range.
