150gr fmj for M14

How much IMR4895 to starts with? That's the only powder I use.

From Hodgson's website, they say start with 42.6gr and a max of 47.3 which will be compressed.

I started at 42.0 and went up to 44.0. Bullet is a 147 FMJBT and primers CCI-200:
(All velocities average of five)

42.0 gave 2615 fps
42.5 gave 2662
43.0 gave 2700
43.5 gave 2729
44.0 gave 2767

The goal was 2700 fps, was so I loaded up 43.0 grains again, this time with WLR primers and tried different bullets:
(all velocities average of ten)

147 FMJBT gave 2695 fps
150 Speer FMJBT gave 2701
150 Sierra HPBT Match gave 2666

If you don't have a manual, you need one. Then work up from the starting load.
