Yesterday I tried some 308 154gr Scenar in my Savage 10FP-LE2B , I moly coat my bullets ,used Lapua neck sized cases , Fed 210M primer and 46gr of Varget. Got great results ,shot a group in 1/4" range:dancingbanana:A friend of mine had given me 10 bullets to try...I'm going to go pick up the rest of the box!!! Anyone else shoot the bullets with good results??

Just got of phone with friend of mine who does a lot Target Rifle shooting out to 900 meters and all he uses is the scenars, he has tried all bullets in the 155gr class and finds the Scenars the best for him, he said some shooters preffer sierra,s or bergers.
 
155 Lapua Scenar use about 2 MOA less elevation at long range 800,900 and 1000 yards than what you need with SMK's and Noslers. Berger VLD's run about the same elevation as Lapua.
I like Lapua and Bergers for long range but Noslers for 600 yards and less. That being said, I do not feel I am at a disadvantage shooting SMK's or Noslers at long range.
 
My .308 custom loves 46 grains of varget under a 155 gr SMK. I've never tried the Scenars, but I suspect they would shoot at least as good as my SMKs.
 
You should be able to push those at over 2950fps with moly. But probably not with Varget. I would suggest IMR4895 or RL15. That bullets is good out to 1200 yards in a 308.

The 208gr AMAX is also excellent. Push it at 2500fps+ and it beats the 155 Scenar with wind, but drops more.
 
Who sells the Scenars in Canada? I have had pretty good success with 155gr Amax, but I am always willing to try something else.

The 155 Scenar is a completely different animal that the other 155 gr. bullets. Its longer and has a higher BC than the 175 gr. SMK, AND you can push it 200fps faster.
