If a loner was going up to 15b to poke around for a calf moose is he best on the water w boat or on an ATV? I'm only slightly familiar with the are so I'd like to bring whatever craft will access the best moose area.

Thankyou
W.B.

well im not familiar with 15b myself i have moose hunted for several years and im positive if you wanna see a calf moose ( good luck! ) you most likly never see a calf on a bike as they make alot of noise and a cow and calf are very spooky unless your hunting large clear cuts you may get a glimps of one. If there is alot of rivers and lake boats travel down stream silently and i have seen a few cows with calves that way once they spot you a cow will stand infront of calf alot of the time so good luck! hope i was helpful

We have taken a calf in our area every year. There are 3 camps and last year we took two (no adult tags)and the next camp took one. Most of the calfs are taken late in the season when there is less hunters in the bush and almost all are taken near water. A canoe or walking along shore/ walking in the bush trails is the only way to go. Use an atv to reach areas too far to walk too, than hunt that area by foot. We spend a lot of time in the camp during the spring/summer and if you see a cow and a calf you know they will be in that area in the fall, if a bear doesn't eat it.

Any reason you picked 15b? Sepending where you are it seems like a long way to go for a calf hunt?

Nice to get away away, and be in a place where theres moose. I'm thinking of going after the seasons been on a few weeks. Take the 4 wheeler for retrieval but walk the shores to hunt
