Is this stuff available in Canada anywhere?

I know you can get a #1 buckshot load in the US. I haven't seen it locally, though, and Cabelas doesn't seem to sell it.

I have an old 16 gauge bolt action Mossberg that's set up with crude sights. I figured it'd make an OK deer gun, as the area I hunt in is mostly buckshot only, but there's also areas I can use slugs. But, I can't find buckshot (and slugs are pretty rare too).

It might be easier to look around for the same shotgun in 12 ga and have a better selection of ammo. Those old Mossbergs are tough guns and usually sell at a reasonable price. $150 to $175.

I have a bunch of Remington 16 ga. buckshot loads purchased at Arnie's guns in Prince Albert SK. Last time I was in there they still had more on the shelf.

Hi: I got mine by going around to some of the older gun shops and asking about thier old stock. You would be suprised what some of those still have on the shelf. One had about 20 boxes of 16ga and I even left with a box of 28ga slugs.

I got mine for far, far less than that.

I have 12 gauges around. I just thought since I had the shotgun, and it's worth nothing for resale (a 16 gauge bolt action slug gun is a red headed stepchild of shotguns) I might as well use it.

I'll ask around. $7 a box isn't bad, because I won't use it often.
