win/64, I find it interesting that you can't find the heavy loads for your 16 - I have the opposite problem here in Saskatchewan, nobody seems to stock 1 oz upland / target loads. I use 1 oz. of lead shot for all my hunting over pointing dogs - ( a Pudelpointer in my case) I think most people tend to "over feed" their shotguns. A 16 ga. performs best with it's "square load" of 1 oz, going about 1200 - 1250 fps, and not larger than #5 shot. I only use those heavier 1-1/8 oz lead loads for December pheasant and windy-day sharptails. I found out this year that handloads of 1 oz. of #2 bismuth work OK for Lesser Canadas at 15-40 yds over decoys. I use the Kent Impact 1-1/16 oz. #5 Tungsten Matrix for ducks, and they are the best i've found for that purpose.
