.17 Fireball

I was looking at a new Rem. 700 chambered for .17 Fireball yesterday. I believe it's the old .221 Fireball necked down. The store had one box of Rem. ammo for it at $33. (20 rounds)! He didn't know about the availability of dies or brass for it. Very interesting little cartridge! Does anybody out in CGN land have one or have info about dies etc?

It's the commercialized version of the 17 mach IV which has been around since the 60s

You'll find tons of load info and dies for it as the .17 Mach IV, good cartridge, more sensible than the .17 Rem. Brass is easy, just neck down .221 Fireball brass.

It will almost certainly need cleaning up, perhaps even neck turning, as with most aggressive neck downs. But in general it's very easy, as there's no elaborate fire forming steps to alter the case body. Enviably simple compared to my wildcats.
