17 Fireball??

I know each rifle is an entity onto itself, but.......

I am wondering what type of powder (load) you are having success with for the FB using either the 20 or 25 grain Hornady VMax. I have some H322 that I will be trying soon. I have two Rem 700 SPS one regular and the other varmint. Love the caliber.

I am having good luck with 25 Bergers using WC 735 (H 335) but would like VMax's for "effect" on gophers.

I have a model 700 Ltd Ed that I've been using H322 with 25 grain hornady v max, 25 grain Berger MEF, and also some Remington 25 grain HP. It worked with all 3 bullets for a velocity in the 3700-3750 fps. My particular gun is a little slower than what they get with factory loads as I chronied the 20 grainers in the 3800's. At 250 yards the v max groups gonsitent 1-1.25 inch range

I use 18.9gr of Benchmark powder with 20gr V-Max in my rifle. Cooper's pet load is 20gr H335 and a 20gr V-Max from what I read on Saubier. That is a very good site for small caliber discussion.
