.17 HM2 In stock anywhere?

Apparently there is a new production run just hitting the shelves. If you are out, you should plan on not seeing any more for at least a year once this run sells out.

X2.

Hard to find indeed. I was thinking of a 1000 - 2000 rounds of Mach2, but I can never find anyone to discount it enough for me to commit.

Why would a business discount the price on something that is so hard to find, and so easy to sell? And even when it was common, the discount for only two or three bricks wasn't much.

Thats some funny chit right there.
Why would they discount it to anyone when they know it will be sold in no time flat.
Earlier this spring I seen several boxes at Cabelas in Abbotsford BC.
Havnt gone online of late to see if it is still there.
Shipping for 4 boxes via Canpar wouldnt have made it worth while.
Just checked the inventory via the website for Canada None available, but a couple stores suggested back order-able what ever that means.

Yes the gun can sit not being used , while you keep hoping for a discount on ammunition that is likely never going to happen.:)

Watch, you will see some appear, then a whole batch, and then it will be stocked by most stores. That will occur over a couple of months. Then after the initial requirement is satisfied, it starts to gather dust on the shelves, and begins to be sluggish in shifting. Then, discount occurs.

Has happened 2 times in the last 10 years, it is then that you start to buy in bulk. (My last calculated purchase was 3,000 rounds, at a fair discount.) Supplemented by some impulse Cabela's purchases.

The guns get used regularly. I just have to to limit myself...........:)

That may happen in Vancouver, but I haven't seen it happening in Alberta and Saskatchewan where we have a strong population of ground squirrels. I rarely ever see 17mach2 ammunition in stores here, and people are searching for it pretty much all the time. When someone finds some in a store, the store is usually sold out in a few days.As for bulk buying, I was buying 20,000 rounds at a time, and that is why I still have 15,000 rounds of Eley left. I was buying the Eley for $6 to $7 per box, and have been offered more than double that, but since Eley no longer manufactures 17mach2, I am not willing to sell any at this time.

I reluctantly got out of 17M2 just because of the cat & mouse routine with ammo. Got rid of a couple of other rifles over the years for the same reason. (22 Winchester "auto", and .351) With that said, the best way to get 17M2 ammo (for me) was finding a gun shop who does allot with Hornady, ideally sells allot of rimfire and even KNOWS what 17M2 even is...putting an order in for as much as you can afford to buy, then wait. I'd also bug anyone/everyone I knew with a rifle in that caliber because I knew they were always looking, even contacted Korth (Hornady importer for Canada) and ask them regularly. I grew tired of all of that, as much as I like 17M2. (note~my avatar) GREAT little round.

On a related note, if I ever find a CZ452 in 17M2...all this might become part of my life again. :)
