I had a 455 Canadian, shot very well with good ammo, but good ammo was hard to find. I also found it to be not the most efficient for killing ground hogs, more wounded that there should have been considering shot placement. I went back to 85 gr 6.5 x 55. They no longer crawl away. Lucky shots with Coyotes, but you can do better. .223 would work well too.
