For hunting, they're awesome! It's like a 22LR with twice the range and twice the accuracy (the CZ Varmint I recently sold would typically keep them all in a 3/4" circle at 100 meters). It does, however, get real old spending $0.25 or more every time you pull the trigger (which is the only reason I sold mine).
The only thing to watch out for is that the little plastic tipped 17 grain bullets are pretty explosive, and tend to mess up more meat than you'd like. To avoid this problem, you can stick to head-shots, or you can use the 20 grain XTP/GamePoint bullets (which will ruin no more meat than a 22LR would).
