17 hmr

Cabelas Stoon has Hornady v-max for $25 I hope the price drops again once it becomes available, but I doubt it. Dezol, did they have TNT?

They had 17wsm as well there for a few dollars cheaper then hmr. I think until the price goes back to $17 a box of hmr I am just going to load my 6x45 with some trailboss to similar to what an hmr does but with a bullet that weighs 3.5 times as much
 
I think the price is just way too high for them now. I love my gun, but will be shooting it much less than before. Hell I have a box marked $11.95 or something like that. Now $25.

I agree. I thought $16 was getting to be to much. Love my cz 452 but probably not going to be used a whole lot these days.

This is really sad, I know the stuff is hard to find, but I can't bring myself to pay that much for it, just like I can't bring myself to pay $45 for a brick of thunderduds. I love my 455 to death, but I might have to buy a 223, or just use the VZ. Would love to have a gopher gun I don't need hearing protection for though.

Reload 223rem. I was loading down with trailboss ad 40gr to 22 stinger speeds and 22 mag speeds with 8gr of powder for 2200-2300fps. Can also use h4895 to cut the noise down with downloaded rounds.
I will be doing this with my 6x45 as I no longer have a 223rem. Accuracy was very good by the way.
Heck I even have my 30-06 with 165's down to 1300fps.

That is very interesting to say the least. You should do a comparison with the 30-06 normal vs reduced load, with your phone and a db app.
 
We are currently seeing a shortage of 17 HMR (now that 22 LR is back) but have never been completely out. Currently we have CCI V Max and A17 at $20/ box of 50 and Hornady V Max at $19/ box of 50. Not enough inventory for brick pricing...it's behind the counter so you have to ask for it. Phil.
 
I still have a couple of bricks of 250 17 HMR ammo I bought about 3 years ago for $50 a brick or $10 a box of 50 from Le Baron.

Boy, has the price ever gone up. I don't shoot it that much now that they are asking so much for it and reload for my .223 instead.

Is this still the case Phil? I have depleted my stash of .17HMR down to low levels.
