17 hornet

I just picked up a 17 hornet and trying to decide what powders to try. I have read that accurate 1680 and 2200 are both good choices. It sounds like VV n-120 is also a good choice, I do have some Lilgun and was going to try it but sounds like the other powders I listed would be better choices possibly?? Just looking to see if anyone has any experience with the above powders.

Looking at Hodgdon's site, there are a lot of "magnum" handgun powders. H110, IMR4227, et al.
Think I'd pick and find the bullet first, then the powder.

I was going to use 1680 as it showed the most velocity. After 5 months of being told the gun will be here next week I sold all the reloading stuff and bought something else so never got to try it. But if I was to do it again thats what I would be trying first. I have real lots of guys have good results with lil gun thought too.

Ya I was thinking of trying the 1680 first as well but have done a bit more reading and guys are sayin that n-120 is quite a bit cleaner burning. I will have to see what I can even find for powder first and go from there I guess.

I had some nice groups with H335 powder in my savgePOS when I still owned it. FS

I'm going to try Lilgun in my 17 Hornet once i get some dies, don't see a lot of bullets kicking around for 17. Oh well i have a case of Hornady to burn up first for the brass.

I found 10.2 grs of lil gun and a 20gr V-max to be very very accurate in my CZ. It is pretty much a duplicate of the factory hornady load.
