so what do you guys think of the new .17 Remington Fireball I like to trap and shoot coyotes for the fur and its the only caliber so far that doesn't leave me sewing which is real nice

so tell me what you think

Do a search, this has come up a couple dozen times. Basically, the 17
FB is the commercialization of the 17 Mach IV which has been out since the 60's.

It'll do what you want, provided you do your part. Though if you're simply looking to dispatch a trapped critter, there are probably better (and less expensive) choices

i see what ur getting at but i don't use it to dispatch critters that are trapped thats what my .17 HMR is for it also works extremley well on coyotes out to 100-150 yards stops them right in their tracks

thanks man ya i bought one the first night after I sighted it in I strapped my bipod and took it out I shot a coyote at 270ish and put him down right in his tracks good old lung shots very impressive for such a needle bullet very impressed it will kill coyotes for me for years to come

a 17 Fireball bullet @ 270y is traveling about as fast as a 17 HMR is at the muzzle. I think it work if placed correctly :)

No one should be shooting dogs at 270 yrds with a .17
If your too cheap to buy a real rifle, try getting a real job instead of trapping animals.

Just what do you consider a real rifle? What is your experience coyote hunting? Just by your comments I would think that you have very ltd coyote hunting experience if any, probably the type that does all your hunting on the computer:rolleyes:
I suppose you'd suggest 375 or above:jerkit:
