Would like to load some 174gr sierra MK in P14 looking for accuracy load
Have these powders on hand RL 15,& 19, Varget,4064,win 748,IMR4350,H 4831sc,and some faster powders as well.

The best load on internet I have found is 40gr 4064 1.5" at 100 y
any suggestions would be nice.
thanks manitou

R19 & 4831 are probably a bit too slow. All of the rest of them you mention would have some promise, I'd say. If it was me, with no better way to sort them, I'd start with the R15 just because I've had great results for both accuracy and velocity with R15 in both 303's and 308's. I've also had some awesome accuracy results from Varget too -- though Varget creates significantly more pressure than R15 to get the same velocities, and high(er) pressure isn't really great for 303 brass life.

RE 15 has consistently worked for me, in all my 303's. Beat 4064 every time. I tend to load to minimum loads, perhaps Re15 has advantage at the low end of the load spectrum..

Reloder 15,IMR 4895,H4895,IMR 4064 have given very good results in any 303 I have had over the years. IMR 4895 is the one I've burned more of than all others combined. I am getting 2450+ fps with 150 Hornady's and IMR 4895 out of a Jungle Carbine with the short 18.5 inch barrel length. With the longer barrel of a No4,I would expect another 150 fps with all bullet weights.

I'm still playing around with loads for my 303. But I have developed one load so far and that was with 46grains of Imr 4831, Winchester brass trim 2.212, CCI 200 LR primers with a 180gr speer .311. col. 3.00 Shot 10ft from cronopgaph 2100fps and a 1inch group (5shot) at 50yrds with open sights.

Cheers

"...40gr 4064 1.5" at 100 y..." Out of that particular rifle. Not necessarily out of yours. You have to work up the load for your rifle. Go to .303british.com for load data. Add the W's.
