.....

why don't you just do whatever you want instead of worrying what's the "new style". Put the parts on that you need, take the ones off that you don't. Save weight.

If I hadn’t bought the complete bulld I would buy a Fulton barrel. Jp signature or slr solo handguard. Jp spring buffer thing ma jig. Nice trigger and maybe a lantac or jp bolt. Not sure for the stock. Magpul on mine is easy good enough. I don’t like massive butt stocks. The stag mlok handguard is very very nice on mine and the only thing I’d want different is to have no rail on top. I don’t like holding a rail in my hands. Smooth forend is my favourite with some grip panels on it. Barrel is nice and not overly heavy and not too skinny. That Fulton barrel has my attention tho. I’m not fully sure what trIgger i want yet

Usually when you talk about high end rifles it's about accuracy and saving weight. Here are a few ideas for accurate and light weight builds where money isn't a factor:

Stag-10 Receiver set
VSeven Weapons Titanium BCG
CA CFW barrel/BSF barrel
JP Enterprises SCSS buffer
SLR Rifleworks Titanium Adjustable Gas block
V Seven Magnesium Hyper-light M lok handguard
Radian Raptor Charging Handle
Geissele SSA-E trigger
Magpul UBR/PRS/Carbon fiber stock

You're looking at around $4,000 for a build like that

I intend to do an all out build, but I am unfortunately delaying it and selling many of my goodies on the ee to finance a few other buys. I was going to do:
-Stag10 set
-PR CFW barrel
-Superlative adjustable gas block
-Surefire Warcomp
-Lantac EBCG
-JP SCS-10
-Geissele SDE
-BAD CASSafeties
-BAD EBR
-Raidian Raptor SL-SD
-Law Tactical Folder Gen-3m
-Law/JPSCS adapter
-PWS buffer tube and ratcheting end plate
-LMT Sopmod G2
-BCM Mod0 grip

Tell me more about this law and jpscs adapter?

You can't be cool these days unless you're rifle is sporting a red plaid cerakote job, neatly cropped beard and a cup holder for your pumpkin spice lattes.

Honest question though. What the eff is the point of a ratcheting buffer tube? I can't seem to wrap my head around this useless concept. Who out there is removing it on a regular basis that a standard tube and staked castle nut doesn't do the trick?
I'm all for spending on something that does something, but some of these things guys are marketing seem to have zero purpose other than to satisfy ones need to say "yeah well my buffer tube cost 180 bucks over your pathetic 50 dollar one...peasant".

Correct me if I'm wrong, as I am genuinely curious what you guys see in this thing.

On the other hand, here's my build specs:

Stag receivers (no ####)
Lantac EBCG (only bought this because I got it for 25 bucks more than a stag QPQ)
Geissele SD-E
Noveske marked super badass charging handle (it's just a geissele but more bad ass apparently)
CMT mlok rail 15"
Ballistic Advantage 20" stainless barrel in 308 (going this route as I have no desire for some Gucci over priced carbon wrapped pumpkin spice barrel that doesn't do anything special. Plus I've had phenomenal results with a cheaper 18" rainier arms ultra Match in 223, plus the moa guarantee and price, I'm hopeful it'll perform as good)
Surefire MB762
Superlative adjustable gas block(only going this route because my research has shown no real favorable buffer weight)
A plain Jane, basic ##### buffer tube that'll do everything an over priced ratcheting one wil do :)
B5 sopmod stock
KAC ambi safety kit that every one of my rifles has
Lancer mags x5 (only because they have the longest COAL which will help with my handloads)
Vortex gen 2 3-15 ffp in an ADM 20 moa mount.

I was looking up the ratcheting buffer tube too and wasn’t sure why I would need it to ratchet either. Hopefully won’t need to use the buffer tube to loosen lug nuts on my vehicle anytime soon lol
