What is this cartridge? I saw a rifle chambered in this cart but can't seem to find any info. Is this related to .17hmr?

my understanding is that the 17HM2 is a .22 long rifle "stinger" case necked down to .17 calibre.

some people call them a dying breed, i've had a few oportunities to get into them, but for the price i can't justify it.
