So I got the chance to get to the range today; took all 3 of my .22s and my new-to-me Savage 93R17FV w/BSA Sweet 17 scope. Had a great time with the .22s then settled down to shooting some serious groups with the .17. To start, and just for fun, had a wack at one of the 25m targets; problem, nothing on paper!! WTF??!! Try again, same result. Try a couple of clicks on the top turret either way, same same. Alright, maybe 50m? Who knows, so we try, with the SAME damn results!! Now, just a little while ago, I was tickled to shoot just a hair over .250" @25m, and now I can't keep it inside a 4' x 8' piece of plywood??
Then the ever so dim bulb glows on. Like many of us do, I have kids, two boys to be exact. And just like many of you, I let them watch when I'm in the shop. A couple of weeks ago I had the rifles out for a cleaning and the kids were watching like they do. Then I knock the can of Eds Red off the bench. As I bend over to pick it up I hear a sound like a coarse zipper. I look over at the boys and theres my two year old, happily spinning the top turret on the Savage!!! I tell him not to touch, reset the turret where it belongs, and continue to clean. FFWD to today, I turn the turret ONE WHOLE REV. UP, and viola!!, back in the race.
Had a good chuckle, learned my lesson, then continued my day at the range. And right now the same little demon is stripping ALL the dental floss out!! Crap.......

I let the little guy watch. Heck, i even get him to hand me stuff, whipe down with the silicone cloth, etc. I made sure, though, that he knows when I say don't touch, I mean don't touch. He learned the hard way the first time. .22 rifle was sitting on the bench, and i turn around to grab the cleanign rod, and when i turn back, he's got his finger in the ejection port poking around. Well, he got to spend the next hour upstairs with mum while I finished cleaning the guns by myself, and i'll tell ya, he was NOT happy about it. Next time, though, he only touched things that i said he could, and only when i said :)

Godo to hear you figured it out. I would be some pissed if i wasted a trip to the range not being able to figure out what was wrong with my scope!
