17m2

I see a dead caliber in the future

Maybe...but I don't think it needs to be. I bet Hornady would tell you they only make small batches once in a while because of low demand. I'd venture a guess that if it was more readily available, I'd go buy a rifle chambered in it and shoot it often. Guessing scores of other people would too. I actually think at this point, Hornady themselves are killing this caliber.

its prity much dead now really however 17 HMR is the same if not more

It's too bad really, out of all the .17 rimfires the Mach2 was the most intriguing to me personally. The HMR and WSM are just louder and more expensive, sure they are "better" if more (velocity, energy, flatter trajectory) is what you're after, but if that is what I'm after I'll just use a small centerfire.

I have to argue your last point however. I regularly see empty HMR brass laying around the range I shoot, it's available almost everywhere, and there are plenty of new rifles being offered in the HMR chambering. It's certainly not dead, nor is it anywhere near the Mach2 in terms of "life".

Every time I bring out a M2 rifle everyone seems to be...what is that..had to pick up some new boxes this year and cabelas in Saskatoon is sold out now. Thinking I should get a new savage regular barrel in M2 just cause.
