Got one of these bad boys heading my way. So, being as this is my first semi-auto shottie, what do I need to know, what parts will fit it? Is there any way to mount an AR type stock, like a knoxx? I know the knoxx itself won't fit, because of the recoil spring, but anything similar, or fullstock with a pistol grip?

This'll bring me up to 4 shotguns, and no place to shoot the damn things. Even when I had a membership at selkirk, they didn't technically allow them. Guess I need to find a gravel pit.
 
Unlike its pump action cousin the 870, the 1100's action (which the Cougar is based on) extends into the butt stock (see diagram below), not unlike an AR... So that really limits the availability of aftermarket stocks unfortunately. You wouldn't be able to use an adapter to fit an AR stock, but companies such as Speedfeed or Hogue might have some sort of pistol grip stock available for the 1100...

At the end of 2010 their will be a convertion system on the market for the remington 1100 that will allow you to put on just about any folding stock or ar15 style stock adaptor system on to it.
S&J hardware is about 4 week into testing the production models on this system.
