In light of the Mac def SLR and possible ATRS MV-s. Would any dealers be open to trying to source a run of 18.6in high quality melonite treated barrel with 5.56 chamber? Seems like SS match grade barrels won’t be hard to find but some of us will be wanting to build a solid beater go to rifle that eats anything and has a long barrel life. If there’s already a dealer out there I’m unaware of please point me in that direction.

Yeah the faxon 20" was my next best thing. I just wanted to run a 18.6" with a mid length gas system VS the rifle length system the 20" barrels have. 1.5" isnt much but anything to get that barrel as short as possible eh. Also can anyone speak to the quality of maple ridge armoury?

We had my friends new build AR with a 16.1" maple ridge armoury barrel out on saturday. With a Trigicon 1-8 (horrible thick reticle, not good for precision work) it seemed to be about 1.5"-2" with cheap PPU XM193 at 100m (107yards). With PMC X-Tac match77 grain seirra ammo about 1.25". We had no trouble hitting the 8" plate at 400m with it from prone with the PPU ammo. I'd say that 1" (1moa) is realistic with it, especially with a different scope. I was quite impressed with it.
