180B grendel build on SBI Lynx

I'd like a non-restricted 6.5 grendel semi. Weighing the pros/cons and cost of piecing together vs a donor rifle. I think all the parts are available to do a build.

I have:
20" faxon type 2 grendel bbl
Trigger tech ar15 trigger
numerous Ar bits and hamdguards


I'd need to buy:

SBI Lynx 180b lower 340$
WK gen 2 upper upgrade kit from TNA 425$
TNA 7.62x39 bolt 190$
TNA Rifle Lenght Gas system 200$
Firing pin 45$
Return spring plate 58$
Cam pin 22$
Firing pin spring 5$
Guide rods 65$
Return springs 15$
Piston spring 7$
Gas block retaing ring 3$
Pivot pin 5$


Total is 1380$

I'm sure I missed something for parts...please comment if you see something.

Looks like it's not too unreasonable for costs. Making it work might be another story. If anyone has done something similar please comment.
 
I seem to recall someone building one of these and then it ending up for sale on EE shortly there after and I'm fairly certain he took a bath on it.
 
there's a 7.62x39 gen 2 180 on the EE right now. buy it and put your barrel on it. just need to get a rifle-length piston. sell all the bits you don't need and come in at a lot less than $1300.

I'm pretty sure a type 2 Grendel barrel needs a Grendel bolt and not a 7.62x39 bolt (which works with type 1 Grendel chambers).

I actually want to do a similar build but on a WS-MCR lower but can't seem to find out whether the SBI upper will work on a MCR lower.
 
Yes...correct on the bolt. I have a lathe and can skim the bolt face 12 thous or whatever the difference is.

SBI confirmed the gen2 wk upper fits Lynx lower. Seems most upper lower combos should fit

I emailed SBI yesterday and they said that the Lynx upper isn't compatible with a MCR lower. Seems weird since the Lynx lower is compatible with MCR (and other uppers) but I figure they should know what works with their stuff...
