hey any info on these 180gr hot cors for use in the Whelen ?

got ahold of another number 4 scope ring so will try fit the x50 scope on an have the Ruger running again... thinking of going lighter although it does perform really good with the 250grain hornadys i would like to flatten it a bit with 180s, but how do they fair?

thanks

Can't say from personal experience, as I have just gotten some to try in the 35 Remington. Have seen bullet tests in water jugs with them in the 358 Win that were very impressive, with very good expansion and weight retention, and heard from others they have done well for them in the 35 Whelen on deer. Sorry, do not recall loads or velocities.
I have been running the 220gr Hot Cor in my 358 Win for more than 15 years and have had great success with them on black bears, moose and elk. For heavier game, this may be a better option for your Whelen.
