So my rifle, .300 win mag likes the 180gr Hornady SST's. I did a little scrounging around on the net and all Ive found is references to deer. The majority of comments are that they expand and break up, cause tremendous meat damage, blow craters out upon exit. Basically word is they act on deer like a varmit bullet on varmits. So would one expect deadly results on bears with all energy expended in the animal, massive wound channel, or would you expect the bullet to fragment too much on bone for anymore penetration. My interest is in put down power, not saving meat. They are leaving at aprox 3079fps at muzzle down to 2494 at 300y.

Lots of people use them with no ill effects, other have posted pictures of massive meat loss. When I packed my 338 I used the SST's for practice and used the Interbonds for hunting. Same bullets aside for the bonding process in the Interbonds, and a few bucks. If you want to stop the bear and not eat it, go for it. If you want the meat and not have to deal with all that goo, try the Interbonds.

I now only hunt with Interbonds in all my guns. 30.06, 7-08 and 20.06 FWIW!
