I'm posting this question for my dad who doesn't access the site. I told him if anyone knew, it would be the GunNutz :D His question is as follows:

"I'm hoping to buy a 1858 Remington revolving carbine [bp] and was curious if anyone in Canada carries those cartridge conversions or do I have to import it in myself."

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Howdy, I've never seen one for sale in Canada from a retailer. However, they are floating around out there. I've had a revolving carbine and a R&D .45LC cylinder for it and it was fun to shoot. Worked great. Why not post an ad that you're looking for one and see what happens. Barring that, You could always order one from the states, but the Taxes at the border kill you. If you go to the SASS website and look at that classified ads there, their usually is one for sale in any given 2 week period. Might save you a few bucks. Good luck.

Cartridge conversion cylinders are available retail in Canada but sell new for about $500 (if memory serves). It's a really neat idea, but unfortunately out of my price range. :(

Good luck to you though :)

Back in the summer when Marstar introduced their Pietta line there was talk that they were "looking into" conversion cylinders. Drop them a line and let them know that there's still interest in them (preferably the R&D Gunshop brand.)
