Hey CGN,

What would a in rough shape but still shootable 1858 Remington be worth. Family friend is looking to sell and i want to be fair with a price but i have no idea what something like that is worth. I know a lot of guys will convert them to a modern caliber(not my plan i'm gonna let the smoke fly).
I don't have pictures or a serial number yet sorry. Just looking for a ballpark price.

I would take a look on gunbroker in the US.
 
Is this an original Remington or one of the many copies? Copies in rough shape a couple hundred perhaps. Shootable originals i would think around a grand. Just my thoughts
