So I recently bought at auction an 1858 Snider Enfield MKII* in very nice condition and I was wondering about it's history. From the quick search I've done it's Dominion of Canada marked made in 1858 and possibly issued to the 83rd Joliette Battalion of Infantry out of Quebec also not pictured is a 3 stamped on the butt plate just below the lower screw.
