1860 Colt - original to modern replacement parts

What modern replacement parts will work in an original Colt 1860 Army circ 1863...?

Do Uberti cylinders work?

I think you will find there are differences in the diameter of the cylinder pin and would not surprise me if the cylinder stops were different. I think the only way you would know for sure is to find someone with a modern Uberti and compare the fit of his / her parts

I have two Uberti 1860’s made about 20 years apart. The cylinders are different lengths. Would require shaving the cylinder face. Also one of the base pins is slightly larger and hole through the Center of cylinder. Barrels will swap. I have two guns that work perfectly so not changing anything.
Could modern parts be swapped? They possibly could but chances are they will need to be fitted or Uberti parts could be totally useless. You would have to have both and see how things fit.

Check out "Lodgewood Mfg" . They do repro parts for originals. Usually much better, quicker, cheaper, and also preserves value. Definitely go this route, rather than to "cabbage" something to fit and regret damage done.
